hello fantastic fans,....
and the sad news is that my "proper telly show in b/w" has been cancelled,......... but only for a week.
yes , due to a double booking mix up entry in my diary ( i blame little frank or robotton) there is no way i can do my telly show and be on stage in oldham at the same time,... so channel m have put my next run of shows back a week till the 9th february.
but that's ok because it gives me more time to work on my special 3d tv experiments and time to set up proper distribution of the 3d glasses you'll need to watch it with. (at the moment we are talking with the m/cr evening news to give them away free withe that fridays paper, but also doing a free mail in service or pick up from channel m reception type thing,. i'll let you know next week). meanwhile read about "little mark e. smith" and his forthcoming adventures in northampton in the extended entry anlong with the latest concert news. (but not before you viewed the pop-up image first) ... i know you will,. you really will.

and while i'll be doing all that - the art puppet little mark e. smith (as worn by david soul) will be making his way up from london where he's been causing quite a art media frenzied stir ( and getting lost in the post over christmas and spending it at a total stragers house !!!), he'll be working his way up to northampton ( or is it nothamping his way up to workington ??) for a special new art exhibition called "it takes two baby" is some former morthampton market place now art thingy, with works by other artists like harry pye, billy childish and james jessop. ( full details to follow) and there may be some new felt tip pen stuff from me in it too.
and remember don't throw those 3d tv glasses away, keep them for the colour repeats !!! 'thank you'

russ has been round and showed me and robottom how to add pop up oictures to my daily blogs, so i've added to todays a picture of me outside the jug of ale which i played at last night,....and thank you to everyone who came to see me wh,... what a ace concert it was.

hello fantastic and ace fans,.............
. don't forget that my new run of my 'proper telly show in b/w' starts on the 10th feb at 10pm and you'll need your 3d glasses (red and green) for this run,..... (or maybe red and blue !!! i'll let you know !),.. the guests are being lined up as i type this in, but a return by paul maccartney has not yet been confirmed,.... but if you're reading this paul !.

tests on 'robottom' (my robot) are starting to get fantastic now that i've put a bit of blu-tac between the 16k ram pack and zx81 machine,........ this has made the conection a lot more secure than just the velcrow,.... which after25 years has lost a bit of it's grippie-ness and gone bobbins on me,... but as i said ....'problem solved !'

don't forget to read yesterday's entry on 'how to make your own 3d glasses' as you'll need them for the next run of my 'proper telly show in b/w' which starts in february on channel m ( details and old episodes can be seen on www.channelm.co.uk )

..............after doing many many tests !!!!!!!!
.robottom (my robot) reacons that dvd quality is bobbins for animation film, as mpeg compression was only developed for natural and predictable motion !!! he sais that it works by vectorizing simular adjacent images and only keeps the infomation about the movement for the parts of the picture that change from frame to frame,......... and only 1 out of every 6 frames are actually burned to the disc.... the inbetween frames are then calculated by the player based on vectorized infomation,......... but in the 'frank's world' animation every frame needs to be on the disc ( all 25 per second ) and modern technology is not doing that !!!! he sais that with progress... we should be getting more frames . not less............. but sais with 'blu-ray' round the corner things should improve !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so with that .......... i shall be looking at taking my super 8mm projector on forthcoming concert shows........
...........but if you still want to move behind the times ,... you can but my 'frank's world' animation from the urbis shop, or from the shopman on this site.

p.s.robottom sais that black and white on dvd is ok
note.- robottom is not working properly yet !!!!

hello fantastic fans,..........
a lot of you have said that you havn't got ( or can't find your) 3d glasses.............
well no worry,. as they are simps to make.

all you need is some red and green gel,...or if not, some sweet wrappers like off the quality sweets lft over from christmas, and cut out some frames out of cardboard and stick the wrappers over the hole bit where you look through............ but if that's too difficult........... then keep logging onto this site as i'll be telling you nearer the time about the great "3d glasses give-a-way" that i'm doing with channel m.

just to let you know that i will be starting a series of live radio dates over the next 2 months which will take in the whole of the uk and there will be a special page for all dates and info on this site within the next week or so....
but it starts with.........
22nd jan 2007 - revolution radio - john warborton show - live 7 am to 10 pm. (details to follow)
there will also be a radio timperley download page on it's way,.......... with all 360 episodes from the 80's and 90's available to collect (with franks world too and various specials).

robottom (my robot) will obviously be helping me with all this, so keep logging on

............ if you've got a pair of 3d glasses in any of your cupboards, then root them out as you'll need them for the next run of my "propper telly show in b/w" which starts on friday 2nd feb at 10pm in black and white (glasses pointless for this trasmission) with the usual repeats in colour ( glasses a must ).
guests are already being lined up for the shows and will include......... will young, emma bunton, the inspiral carpets, badly drawn boy, one of the smiths and one of the beatles !!!.(channel m is on sky 203,...ntl 878,...or you can watch past episodes by going direct to www.channelm.co.uk )

there is also a bbc2 telly show in february which features me, and details of all new telly appearanceswill be on this site on the special telly page,.......... along with some class old shows i've been on which you can watch again.

also with help of my zx81 and robottom, the concert guide will be updated to this site, along with a past diary....
with news cuttings, posters, tickets, photos, sound bits, and video clips.....some of which you my fantastic fans can download,........................ so just keep logging on

and yes at last,!!!! with the help of 'robottom' and my zx81 i'm on line from my garden shed, so no more popping into roger's or russ's or channel m or internet cafe's ( which should be closed down under trades description as they don't ever sell tea or buiscits ! ! !)..and i can now do my blogs from home............. mum permitting .

and there are some ace concerts and shows flooding in to tell you about, and even a poetry reading at wimbledon library which looks like being on the 23rd march,............ full details to follow soon as i get my concerts page in full shape on mt web site.

plus badly drawn boy are going tot make a return too., plus i'll be bringing in my mum's old piano.!!!!! and building more onto my set..........like a film club room thingy ???

hello fantastic fans,............
and as we move into 2007, work on my robot is well under way, what with all the bits of left over tincel, and sparkley bits, and i'm sure me mum won't miss the fairy lights for the next 11 months, so work in my shed on 'robottom' has well and truley comenced,..... and 'very space 1999' it's starting to look (but different).
i know i've been building it since 1986, but remember.......... robots take a long time.
it will of course be a "all singing all dancing underwater robot" and also the ' world's first full artificial intelligence ', and i hope to have him up and running to look after things while i'm on my world tour. ( if not i'll get russ and roger)
