hello fantastic fans,...........

........ and thank you to all who brought the comic relief '500 miles' ,.... it was a ace thing to be in and the money goes to fantastic things ,.... and well done peter for puttong it all together.

......... and talking of money going to fantastic things - this friday is andy rourkes " manchester vs cancer" concert at the m.e.n. arena ,...with noel gallagher, ian brown, the charlatens and that ' well known mancunian ' paul weller.
i'll be there this year with the important job of sweeping the stage between the acts,... and andy has got me a new broom.

i'll spend most of this week recording,.... i've got some music to do for a telly advert for sky,... plus my german 10" vinyl only relrase "sie liebt dich" ; "komm gib mir deine hand" : plus the pete best inteview and more !!! ..... and of course - finish off my album ... and do the track listing and record some bonus material for the cherry red album " e. f. g & h".

and i'll also be packing to go to america ,... allthought i'm only packing a carrier bag - as i'm only going for the day !
that should be long enough to 'take' them.... anthing i don't get round to doing, i'll do when i pop back next time.

next saturday (31st march) see's bbc 3 show part two of the 100 most annoying songs which i'm on . it's on at 9.25 pm and i think there are plans to put it on bbc 2 later in the year (as they allways do).

talking of bbc 2 i'm still on for being filmed for their 'culture show' but we haven't found a date yet.!!!

......... but ....... channel m at the moment are trying to launch a new breakfast show, and as a result they have had to push me and my set out of their studio space,. which means you can no longer go and see it at urbis,.. and more to the point - ..... i can't do anymore studio based shows until they sort themselves out.
i am putting together a show to be filmed on location at the moment ,... but this takes a lot of time/organization/and editing which i don't allways have,... which means there could be weeks when there is no show !!!!
so if you want to complain to get my set put back in urbis - write to channel m, complaints dept, c/o urbis, manchester, m4 3bg. then i can get live guests back on - which i think is ace.

i did film my ace 'happening' "bed-in" for the new channel m breakfast show ... i'll let you know when it's going to be on !

hello fantastic fans,.......
and after a very very busy week, i had a day off on saturday to do shopping ( and not just for my mum !!!).
after going to a ace jumble sale , where i got two superb robot building items !!! i then went to the pound shop in alty and got a new set of felt tip pens ,..... plus ,... some 'make your own birthday card' kits ,... so i'm now back in buisness with my service i used to offer in the late 80's and early 90's - which was -
hand drawn birthday cards for that special person in your life , but this service will only run for a short period of time (or untill the felt tips run out - or even less if i forget to put the tops back on !!!) for details - read the extended 'read on' entry.

hello fantastic fans,........
i got wind yesterday of a special birthday bash, with the gallagher brothers as guests ,... so i couldn't resist getting a cameraman (dan) from channel m and going in search of the famous big headed two,....... and i found them. to see the results tune in tonight to my "proper telly show in b/w" on channel m at ten o'clock. (sky 203 - ntl 878).

i'm also doing three live shows today in manchester....... go to 'concert' for full details.

........ and finaly my album is getting done........ tune in tommorrow for a full report.

***** wednesday 14th - the shuffled club - oldham st. manchester... i'm on about 9 ish

***** thursday 15th - the kings arms in salford - i'm compere for the first half of a comedy night

**** friday 16th - the printworks in manchester, i do 8 minutes of a 24 hour marathon back-to-back wall-to-wall record attempt at 24 hours of non-stop-comedy.
( i have warned them that i am a serious artist/composer/poet/and 3d telly man and that i will have to find my library card and get a 'joke book' out,........ but i should be on late afternoon around 4 - 4.30 ish !)

**** friday 16th - the koffee pot - teatime session, stevenson sq. 5.30pm ( it's free)

**** friday 16th - 7.30 back to the kings arms in salford for the 2nd night of compereing ... then

**** friday 16th - my "proper telly show in b/w" on channel m at 10pm ( and maybe a after midnight colour repeat)

hello fantastic fans,........
.... and welcome to a week in manchester.

yes,... after the last week or so when i was bombing it about everywhere,........ this week i'm all at home,.... but still loads to do to catch up, .... and still loads of concerts to perform concerts to perform ,.... but at least i can open the windows and try and get rid of that smell of ambient music which has been hanging in the air,.... and it seems that little frank has gone fishing on the canal !!!! ... (that's stupid ! - how can that be ???)

and of course the 11:3:7 should've been the release date of my album ,... and isn't ... so i've got to get my recorder fixed,.. and back on that,... and i didn't get to do my "proper telly show in b/w" this week (not my fault - channel m's !!!), ... and my robot ('robottom') has been absolutley bobbins at all the computer stuff with that stupid zxbrain of his !!! and i'm way behind on shopping for my mum,.. but if i'm going to play concerts in blackburn, huddersfield, birkenhead and hartlepool, and go to irland to go on rte telly and film an advert and go to the tate in london to for art and photos and do radio interviews,.. and try and stop little frank recording ambient music !!!! then it is going to be busy.
anyway read on for all the great things that are going to happen this week, and a big "thank you" to all who came to watch my shows.

right !....... a week full of manchester shows,....
***the 14th sees me open a night of acts at the shuffled club @ the frog and bucket on oldham street.
***15th and 16th i'm compere over at the kings arms in salford.
*** and 16th i'm doing a free tea-time session at the koffee pot at 5.30pm and....
*** somewhere aound friday afternoon i'm taking part in a comic releif 24 hour-non-stop comedien thingy at the printworks where loads of comis have to get up and do back-to-back jokes ( eight minutes each ) for a new world record ???? now i've told them that i don't do comedy ( i'm a serious artist/poet/musician/and 3d telly man ) but as it's for comic releif little frank and i are doing 4 minutes each ( i'm going to need to find my library card again to get a book of jokes out !!!)

*** on the football front,.... my sunday team - the "timperley bigshorts" are in the quarter final of the cup against 'nello james f.c.' with a 11 am kick off,... so i'll be up early for that.

and of course i've got to get my album back on course...........

hello fantastic fans,.............
and you catch me in the middle of a very very busy week ,.........

after playing blackburn, ... then huddersfield,...... i zoomed off to ireland to do rte 2 tv's "podge and rodge show" (youtubes to follow),... then it was down to the tate gallery in london to shoot a cover for the front of the guardian guide (due out in april) with me showing some of my art,........ then i spent a day shooting a advert for sky telly (also due on in april),... then a bbc radio cleveland interview,... plus now i'm off to do a concert in birkenhead with 'the smythes' as part of my 'morrissey/smiths' week,....... then tommorrow i'm in hartlepool,.... and on top of this ... my album has been falling behind,.. and i've not yet organized a "proper telly show in b/w" for this week and studio time is getting scarse at channel m,.... phew !!! so -

it might be that you'll have to see the ace repeat episode with andy rourke in this week (and emma bunton) ,... and my album goes back yet another week !!! sorry.

hello fantastic fans,..........

i've been doing a ace thing this morning for bbc 3 telly which should go out around easter,........ and i get to introduce paul mccartney...... that's good,........ and then he sings ,......... and then i sing too,........ but we didn't do one together,.... but i did discuss that matter,.......... so it could yet happen. .... i'll keep you informed.

last nights show in blackburn was ace .... (thank you for coming),........ and also last night's "propper telly show in b/w" was fantastic too....... i had john power, john warboughton as guests,...... and the brilliant andy craine in 3d !
there are colour repeats of it on channel m tonight at 10pm and tommorrow morning at 11:30 am and 9pm at night.
(read past blogs on how to get your free 3d glasses and tune into channel m)

i'm off to dublin this week to do some telly there, and have told little frank that under no cercumstances is he to record 'any' ambient music while i'm away.

hello fantastic fans,.........

well the good news is you are reading this,... which means - this web site is fixed and back on track (thank's to russ and roger and no help from that stupid robot of mine) so the blogs are back and stand by for loads of new pages ...( good !),........ and also 'the limozine" tv show looks like it might be back on with itv (that's good)....i'm back on iain lee's show again (maybe twice !!!) ... that's very good,,,, and i'm off to the tate (britain) next week for one of them art things......details to follow.... that's very very good......... and the first film in my two part trilogy is about to be officially announced....... very very very very good, ..... and next week i start to compile "e, f, g & h" for cherry red,... along with some new artwork . ( email them for release date etc - click on 'cherry red')

(now the bad)............ my tape recorder is not yet fixed,... so my album is awy way way behind,... and i doult if it'll even be available for a download on the 11th of this month....... i'll keep you posted.
anyway my "proper telly show in b/w" is on on friday at 10pm ..... and the big news is that, after all the 3d tests, i am now ready to bring you andy craine into your living room in glorious 3d ( read on fro details of how to view and get glasses)
