hello fantastic fans,.......
yes ,.... i went on dressed as a nun,..... then did a bit as a preist,.... before finishing off as elvis,..
but now i'm back from craggy island,... where a ace time was had by all at the 'friends of ted' (father ted convention)...... but it took...........
...... one taxi,... one coach,... 3 bus's,.... 4 mini bus's,.... 5 aeroplanes,.... and a ferry,...
plus 5 different airports,.... 2 bus stations,.... 2 ferry terminals and a total travelling time of over 24 hours.... (13 hours 15 mins going on friday,...... and 11 hours coming back on saturday) ,........... and all for 45 minutes on stage !!!
........ but it was all well worth it,..... and my highlights were - some of the most hair raising take-offs and landings i've ever been on (you pay for that at the fair!). and the areoplane from craggy island (inis mor) to the irish maine land was good .... the plane was full . . . all 6 seats.!!!!,.... but i think the ferry was the best,.... they had canncelled all sailings to the island all day.... but were forced to start it again at 6 at night due to the build up of nuns and vicars on the mainland,.... so in the pitch black ... the ferry plus a local fishings boat set sail as a amarda into the atlantic ocean with over 450 nuns, preists, bishops and mrs doyle's..... and we were pounded.... i'm suprised we didn't loose someone overboard..... but 45 minutes later we all arrived on craggy island...... soaking wet....but with the world's biggiest cup of tea you've ever seen.
the concert was ace ,.... i was top of the bill in the village hall (where they shoot all the father ted disco and concert scenes),.. along with 'the royal mugs',... 'evlis presley',.... and the dj priest (who had more that just 'ghost town' with him tonight')...... and the whole thing was beltin' fun. ..... and is still going on now as i write this back in timperley.
meanwhile back on the mainland ,..... plans are afoot to take down all the mosaics on the outside of afflecks palace,.... including the two with me on. i've added a photo of the "franksworld" one to 'my pics' along with a couple of photos from 'the aftershow'.

p.s. has anyone seen me on bbc4 tv's "citizen smith" ? ... i keep missing it !
p.p.s. a midweek win 4-2 against 'showmans' has put 'the bigshorts' up to 3rd in the league,... just 3 points behind the leaders...... not bad ,... seeing as we came out of 2007 bottom of the table............... see www.myspace.com/bigshortsfc where there are some new photos.
